Schlosshotel Im Grunewald

Vur treated me to this overly indulgent hotel for my birthday after 2 week budget trip with my sister around eastern Europe. I arrived here appalled by the awkward bathrooms in budapest and vienna. A bit wary from all the walking around and running for buses and trams, the bond-esqe german in a slick black suit, who met us at the airport, was just what the doc ordered. We drove off in a black S550 and whizzed past the lush gardens of the posh neighborhood of Grunewald. Three more slick suits greeted us just inside the heavy wrought iron gates of this summer palace converted to a hotel. Inside its grand entrance,we were shown to our one of a kind suite, through various parlors, all decorated in beautiful artifacts.

Our suite was a dream. Greys, blues, and gold, a hallway lead to a cozy living room besides which lay the bedroom. The detail was impeccable; the decor exquisitely appointed.  Welcome note, flowers, the small details always go a long way.
